Hohhot, where Half the Sky opened a Children’s Center in 2009, was founded by Mongol leader Altan Khan, a direct descendant of Genghis Khan, at the end of the 16th century. But thanks to the discovery of bone fragments of early humans thought to be contemporaries of Peking Man, archeologists believe that 500,000 years before Khan established Hohhot, our human ancestors were living in the area.

Lily's Forever Family
It is very obvious that the staff at China Care Home worked hard to care for Lily before we brought her home and gave her a lot of attention and care. Lily is very sweet and loving. We still have concerns about her health, but we’re taking it one step at a time. >>>
