HuiLi finds Love HuiLi entered our Infant Nurture Program in March of this year. He has an esophageal obstruction and has had an operation. He has sparse hair on his little head, and there is always a smile on his little long face.

He was three months and nineteen days’ old when I saw him the first time. I held him into my arms and told him, “I will take care of you from now on.” He looked at me and smiled at me.

The ayi told me that he could drink 40-50ml milk and very soon after he finished it, he would cry for someone to hold him. The second time I went to see him, he cried as expected and when I held him in my arms, he stopped crying. I told him, “Huili, we will be together every day, do you like it? Tell me!”...

Half the Sky offers the love and concern of family for thousands of orphaned children in China who have lost theirs.

We provide individual nurture and stimulation for babies, innovative preschools that encourage an early love of learning, personalized learning opportunities for older children, and loving — and most important, permanent — foster homes for children whose special needs will keep them from being adopted.

In welfare institutions across China, in offices in Beijing, Hong Kong and the United States, hundreds of Half the Sky staff members work to make certain that each of China's orphans knows that someone cares.
